Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the hotel, explore the surrounding area, or prepare for the safari ahead. Your guide will brief you about the journey and ensure everything is ready for the following day’s adventure.
After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most rewarding wildlife destinations. The park is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, enormous baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and diverse wildlife.
Enjoy a game drive through the park, where you can expect to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes, and various bird species. With luck, you may also encounter lions and other predators. After an exciting day in the park, continue to your campsite for dinner and an evening surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
After breakfast, leave Tarangire and continue toward Lake Manyara National Park. Despite its relatively compact size, Lake Manyara offers a remarkable variety of landscapes, including groundwater forests, open grasslands, wetlands, and the scenic alkaline lake.
During the game drive, look for elephants moving through the woodland, giraffes feeding among the trees, buffaloes and zebras crossing the plains, and hippos resting in the water. The park is also an excellent destination for birdwatchers, with hundreds of species recorded in the area. After exploring the park, continue to your campsite in the Karatu area.
After breakfast, drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a full game drive. The crater’s enclosed ecosystem supports an exceptional concentration of wildlife throughout the year.
As you explore the crater floor, watch for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and numerous antelope species. The area also provides one of the better opportunities in northern Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhino. After the game drive, ascend from the crater and continue to your campsite for the evening.
After breakfast, depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through the spectacular landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before reaching the vast grasslands of the Serengeti.
As you enter the park, begin your first Serengeti game drive. The landscape stretches across seemingly endless plains and supports enormous populations of wildlife. Depending on the season, you may encounter wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, giraffes, and predators such as lions and cheetahs before reaching your campsite.
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. This extended time in the park allows you to explore different areas and follow wildlife activity as it changes throughout the day.
The Serengeti is famous for its exceptional populations of big cats, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. You may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, zebras, and large herds of wildebeest. Your experienced guide will use knowledge of the terrain, wildlife movements, and recent sightings to provide the best possible game-viewing experience.
Continue your Serengeti adventure with another full day of wildlife exploration. The additional time allows you to move beyond the most visited areas and discover different habitats within the park.
If your safari coincides with the Great Migration, you may witness thousands of wildebeest and zebras moving across the plains in search of fresh grazing and water. Even outside the migration period, the Serengeti offers outstanding wildlife viewing, with resident animals and predators present throughout the year.
After breakfast, continue exploring the central Serengeti, an area known for its excellent year-round wildlife viewing. The region around Seronera provides a mixture of open plains, rocky outcrops, river valleys, and woodland that attracts a wide range of animals.
Enjoy game drives while searching for lions resting on the plains, leopards around wooded areas, cheetahs hunting in open grassland, and large herds of herbivores. Later, return to your campsite and enjoy an evening beneath the African sky.
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti before beginning your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The drive provides another opportunity to observe wildlife and enjoy the changing scenery as the vast Serengeti plains give way to the dramatic landscapes of the northern highlands. Arrive at your campsite later in the day and relax after your safari activities.
After breakfast, leave the Ngorongoro area and begin your return journey to Arusha. Along the way, you may have an opportunity to stop at a local community or market and experience some of the culture and daily life of northern Tanzania.
Continue to Arusha and settle into your accommodation. This evening gives you time to relax, reflect on your safari experiences, and prepare for your departure the following day.
After breakfast, enjoy your final moments in Arusha before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
